P76. Ambush2

I felt a little bad for the guy even as I was drawing this. I mean… that’s gotta hurt… ugh :(

Sun Bin really got him good. If he’s as cruel as Pong Guen he will now probably remove his kneecaps or something. Unless Pong Guen dies first of course.

Nicely drawn ending of Pong Guen anyways, thanks:)

Wow, even though hes evil, hes still a super bamf kneeling down with all those arrows in him like that. He still doesn’t see how cruel and wrong what he did is?

As a soldier he can abide the physical pain. The real torture is the knowledge that he will be remembered for his failure & defeat.

Thank you very much guys! And Paul I’m inclined to agree with you - the historical records for this period are very brief, but if I’m reading it correctly, I think Pong Guen’s greatest regret was that history will know he was defeated by his little brother.

100,000 casualties…all elite cavalry…enough to conquer the whole of China…

A nation need well over a century to recover from the loss or her best
    and brightest.

Where would Europe be without the Marshall plan?
Where would Japan be without Mac Arthur?

Probably at the same spot North Korea is today.

Sun Bin is on record as deeply regretting
the death of Pong Guen…some people do see a little
further than the tip of their nose, which was NOT Pong Guen forte…

Indeed, the state of Wei never recovered from this defeat. As for Sun Bin’s feelings about Pong Guen’s death, my understanding is that there is very little on that topic in the official history, but many have speculated that the first time Sun Bin and Pong Guen met in battle, Sun Bin purposely allowed Pong Guen to escape, for old time’s sake.
