P74. Message
The ambush at Ma Ling, depicted in this scene, is perhaps most famous for being one of the earliest written records describing the use of crossbows in warfare (wiki ref). Personally I’m most struck by the “in-your-face” nature of the message. Ambushes are a staple of war, but I don’t know of any other instance where the attacker leaves a note like this to tell the victim he’s screwed.

Stunning visual! A long time coming to be sure, but it worries me: is this “Tale” soon to be over? Will there be more?

Thank you so much guys! This really means a lot. And I wasn’t going to get into this till later, but since you asked - yes, this particular “tale” is getting close to the end. I do plan on starting another one, although I’m probably going to take a little break in between to get my ducks in a row: figure out what story to do, mess with the website, things like that

Glad to hear that there will be more to anticipate from your pen after the ending of this story! Looking forward to re-reading this entire thing when it finishes up and even more eagerly anticipating whatever your next project may be!

This is a great comic:-) are you going to sell hardcopies? I demand, if the price is right…yeah, writing an economics test tonight

Thank you very much, very glad to hear you guys have enjoyed this little comic
As for hardcopies, I haven’t really thought about it - I’ve never made hardcopies before so I have no idea how the logistics work. I guess that’ll be one of those ducks I should get into the row when this story ends
xcal: Hope that economics test went well. My wife is taking MBA classes, if I have to read another problem on present value my head might explode…
